{"id":580,"date":"2012-10-26T23:00:57","date_gmt":"2012-10-26T23:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ourhouse.ilearnedthehardway.com\/wordpress\/?p=580"},"modified":"2019-06-27T00:30:45","modified_gmt":"2019-06-27T00:30:45","slug":"building-the-custom-made-countertop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ourhouse.ilearnedthehardway.com\/?p=580","title":{"rendered":"Building the &#8216;custom made countertop&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I planned on helping alot more today on the building of the countertop &#8216;framing&#8217; but between work stuff and trying to stay out of the way, I got very little &#8216;kitchen time&#8217;. \u00a0Jen was in there all day getting things done!! \u00a0You Go Girl!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the cabinet doors now have pulls (this was done 2 days ago\u2026and they look great &#8211; still more to do)\u2026there are 17 cabinets in the kitchen now\u202641 cabinet pulls for doors and drawers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trim has been cut\/installed for most of the windows and doors, baseboards painted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The countertop framing is complete\u2026the raw plumbing is in place\u2026and the cement board is cut and ready to be screwed into place. &nbsp;We are using a bolt cutter to nip 1\/4&#8243; of the end of cement screws, since the shortest cement screw sold is a little too long. &nbsp;Chances of these screws ever making contact with skin is slim to none, but why take the chance\u2026that cut would be ugly! &nbsp;screwing cement board into place is one of my many weekend projects\u2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I planned on helping alot more today on the building of the countertop &#8216;framing&#8217; but between work stuff and trying to stay out of the way, I got very little &#8216;kitchen time&#8217;. \u00a0Jen was in there all day getting things done!! \u00a0You Go Girl!
